Why did the riots start in the first place? What is the London Riots Reason?

I have lived in london for a couple of years as a kid and what is happening there now is disgusting beyond belief. I can't fathom what could have caused this terrible rioting... why did the riots start in the first place? What is the reason for all this violence? can someone enlighten me here

From what I have heard from a friend in london, is that the incident that sparked these riots had a racial element to it, a black man was shot dead by a predominantly white police force.

However that was just the spark which spread into uncontrolled violence and looting... Those participating are generally teenagers of all colours and creeds and their intention is to create havoc with the added bonus of taking home stolen goods from shops and stores.

Another person has been shot, in the roits as i have heard in the news, so the death count is 2 now,

One of the prominent reason for the rioting, predominantly by teenagers and the youth, was a chance to get away with taking whatever they liked. Greed and Materialism are qualities we are imbibing in our youth, in addition to breakdown of traditional family structures and moral values... Hence when there is an opportunity to get away with taking the latest Iphone or thousands of pounds Jewellery, why not!

Just read that 3 asian muslim men died yesterday in birmingham protecting the street when a car drove into them. They were only protecting their business from rioters.

    Shame on you rioters!

    Yeah... it's a real shame...

Wonder how the 2012 Olymics preparations will be affected by this

this isnt the first time that horrid crimes have been committed on the pretext of taking revenge from the government.
although i would really like to know if the encounter between the police and the civilian was a racist one.

So the death count has went up to 5 now, what people really think they can achieve from all this roiting, are they expecting fun or its just the looting, i mean how much do the loot value? is it more valuble then the life lost, or the entire amount of money wasted due to the destruction caused by them, is eletronic products worthy against blood of man, or couple of jackets worth more than someones life,
and racism that is absolutely 100% commentless, i dont think there is anything that can be justified by that,

The more one analyzes it, the more London Riots Reason remains unclear. After all, many of the ones accused are young people from well to do families and many people are with jobs and come from affluent backgrounds. What it seems is a complete moral failure on the part of british society to raise it's youth defeated by a chance at excitement, fun and getting away with crime.

Now there is a crackdown operation going on, the police is hunting looters and people who caused mass damage from their homes, i hope this does not fuels more violence on the streets,
