It depends allot of what you want the PC for.
In my heavy gaming days, I build a monster power PC for gaming for not much money... by only focusing on Graphic card, CPU, RAM and a very fast Hard Drive.. the motherboard use to get so hot that I have to put ice on it...

    hi
i used to be a gamer, but then i found that there was a lot more to computers. a hell of a lot more, not that i am saying there is wrong with gaming you understand. in fact i would be a foolish if i did, as playing games gave me the where with all to progress. funny as that sounds... but it all started on the ZX 81. and then the Aquarius, then got on to the Amiga 500 600 and 1200. then on to windows, and all hell broke loose. i have all the family of windows from 3.0 to windows 7, its just a thing i have. i am one of those people that collect things, and i enjoy fooling about with computers but just the desktop you understand. i seem to get on with them better, i think its a size thing..lol

i will not be trying to make a computer if its not gonna be better than any computer that exists in the world or i really am cosidering wasting time and money over custom building a comp, and i dont think my dream machine gonna be cheap so atumatically i wont be saving any money by building it, i already have a decent system does most of my work very easily,

hi and if thats all you want why not, but its not all you want is it?... if you are like me and i think you are , there is a bit of you that nags and says what happens if... and thats all i need to set me of again, i must find out. i must try to see if i can do better, and if i cannot i want to know why not and so on and so on. its the way things are! if you like its the way things have always been, its why and who i am to day. and and it sould be, you might say in this house all is right with the world.lol

comes in and reads and quietly sniggers in the background ... @alan tee and pray tell who got you into all the computing lark ... though you have gone well advanced since those days of the ZX81 the crashes the endless typing ... and yeah you never stop at being a gamer ...

i am always trying to really better the system ive got here agreed with some helpful advice ... however i do agree that really why would anyone want a super computer than say a laptop can do or a updated computer with windows 7 can do ... and many upgrades that get published to the wider audience end up with more ploblems ... its a shame i loved the XP windows and so used to it ..then they fetched out vista ...but thats another story ....
